Consultation, Psychotherapy, and Psychoanalysis
Consultation, Psychotherapy, & Psychoanalysis: The individuals and couples with whom I work are generally interested in understanding and addressing not only certain specific, emergent problems - such as those associated with adjustment and relationship difficulties, depression, and anxiety - but also the underlying thoughts, feelings, and behavioral and relational patterns that have contributed to the development of these problems. Through a collaborative, empathic process, these individuals and couples are able to expand and utilize their skills, strengths, and self-understanding in order to live more meaningful and rewarding lives.
Patient Focus: I provide consultation, psychotherapy, and psychoanalysis for late adolescent and adult individuals and couples from a diverse array of sociocultural backgrounds and identities.
Patient Difficulties: I provide consultation, psychotherapy, and psychoanalysis for patients struggling with academic, personal, or professional adjustment; depression or dysthymia; anxiety or fears; traumatic experiences; loss or grief; self-regulation; anger and impulsivity; substance abuse; separation, divorce, and other relationship issues; personality organizations and disorders; and issues associated with personal, relational, and identity development and self-esteem.
